Walking the Fjällräven Classic

In September, WildBounds.com sent me off to the western Lake District to walk the Fjällräven Classic UK.

If you haven’t come across them before, Fjällräven Classics are organised multi-day hikes, run by the famous Swedish outdoor gear brand. They started out 20 years ago in northern Sweden, and in fact I ran into preparations for the 2015 Classic as I passed through Abisko on my Green Ribbon. These days they take place more-or-less annually in seven different countries.

The UK Classic is a fairly recent addition. 2024 was only the second time they’ve run one here, and at 250 people it was a relatively small event compared to the 1,500 trekkers who undertake the Swedish Classic each year.

Anyway, it was great fun. I made lots of new friends, including a man with a wooden flute. Read all about it here.
